Below are the answers to our members’ most frequently asked questions.
Hiving is a rewards-based online survey platform. Joining Hiving as an online survey panelist allows you to shape the quality of everyday products and services through your consumer opinions and perspectives on current and unreleased company products and brands. In return for completing these online consumer surveys, you will be rewarded with Hiving points (redeemable for Cash Rewards).
No, hiving is absolutely free. Hiving sustains itself financially through the companies, brands, and market research firms that utilize our data services--- which also enables us to provide Hiving panelists with Cash Rewards.
In order to provide an accurate statistical representation of nation-wide consumer patterns, Hiving is seeking a diverse pool of survey panelists. Yet 3 general requirements exist for being a Hiving panelist :
Hiving ensures that your personal data is kept secure. The personal details you provide during registration are used solely for the purpose of enrolling you in online surveys that match your consumer profile. Furthermore, the answers you provide to our survey questionnaires will only be used as part of anonymous reports on consumer patterns and trends. Finally, Hivings policy is to never provide any of your personal information to a third-party for any reason, as our company has the utmost respect for privacy and data protection.
By filling out our registration forms, Hiving panelists are able to create their unique consumer profile that ensures that they are enrolled in relevant surveys that match their consumer interests and demographics. For instance, you wouldnt be enrolled in a survey about diapers if you dont have infants in your household. Consequently, you are required to complete, at a minimum, the Household and Health themed questionnaires, in addition to one other theme of your choosing. Failing to do so would unfortunately result in the cancellation of your Hiving registration.
You can access your account by logging into our Member area and simply providing your email address (the same one used for our survey invites) and your password through the sign-in section on Hiving's home page.
You can change your email address by logging into our Member area, click on "Manage your account", tab, and then clicking on "Change your email address".
Please double-check that the email address youve provided is the same address Hiving sends your surveys through. Changing your email address would result in you only being able to access your account with the new address, yet, if youve attempted to change your email address without a confirmation of this, you will still be required to log-in with your old email address.
Nonetheless, if this problem remains unsolved, do not hesitate to contact us and we will be sure to provide you with additional assistance. Please remember to provide us with your first and last name in your email request for assistance.
You can click here here to request a new password. By providing the original email address you used while registering with Hiving, you will receive an email with your new password.
You can personalize your password by selecting "Manage your account" then on "Personalize your password". This section provides you with all the necessary steps to change and personalize your password.
Updating your profile after important life events (such as getting married, having children, or becoming a homeowner) is crucial to ensuring that the Hiving surveys in which you are enrolled remain relevant to your evolving consumer profile and demographic. Completing more themed questionnaires will make you eligible for more surveys, more Hiving points, and more Cash Rewards.
We hope you find our Hiving panel engaging and rewarding, however if you would like to delete your account, you can log in to your Member area and click on "Unsubscribe". Filling out and completing Hiving surveys, which are sent to you via email, will result in your Hiving account being credited with Hiving points that can be redeemed for cash through Paypal. The Hiving points offered for each survey will be specified in each survey invitation we send by email. It is the policy of Hiving to credit your account only after a quota of completed surveys has been met no longer than 30 days after survey completion. Furthermore, no Hiving points will be awarded to panel members who 1) fail to fully and seriously participate in our surveys, 2) fail to answer our survey questions consistently, and 3) inappropriately attempt to answer the same survey multiple times. Another great and simple way to earn Hiving points is by inviting your family, friends, and colleagues to join the Hiving panel community. More information on our Tell a friend program is also available.
Accumulated Hiving points are credited to your account only after a pre-determined quota of survey completions have been met and the survey has been closed, which could take up to 30 days.
Additionally, it is possible in some cases that panelists have participated in a survey but havent fully completed the survey, which is why Hiving points have not yet been awarded. If you are a survey panelist that receives a message alert indicating that 1) you are not qualified to enroll in a given survey, or that 2) enough eligible participants have already completed the survey; then there will be no Hiving points available for that particular survey. Panelists who have finished a survey without receiving Hiving points after the maximum 30-day waiting period can contact us for assistance. Please remember to mention the survey topic and participation date for clarification purposes.
Hiving points can be redeemed for cash rewards via Paypal after a minimum of 400 points have been accumulated. Furthermore, cash conversions are only accepted in multiples of 400 points (400, 800, and 1200 points).
Hivings Point Conversion Rate
- 400 Hiving points = $5
- 800 Hiving points = $10
- 1200 Hiving points = $15
After accumulating a minimum of 400 points, you can redeem your Hiving points for cash payments. Simply Log in to your account then select the "Check your points balance" tab, and the follow the listed instructions.
The Tell a friend program offers our panel members the opportunity to earn additional Hiving points by inviting others to join the Hiving panel. In order to be awarded these bonus referral points, the friends you invite to join Hiving must complete the "Household", and "Health" themed sections of Hivings registration questionnaire--- along with another themed section of their along with another themed section of their choice within a month after registration.
Current panelists will earn 20 points for each invited friend that registers for the Hiving panel and accepts Hivings terms and conditions. Better yet, Hiving panelists who invite friends within 3 days of their registration will be eligible for 40 points after their friends successfully register.
If you have not yet received Hiving points after referring your friend to us, it is probably due to the fact that your friend has not yet completed the registration requirements (filling out the Household, Health, and another theme of their choosing) that would make you eligible for referral points. Your referred friend has 30 days to complete these brief themed questionnaires after registering with Hiving.
Nonetheless, feel fee to contact us to obtain a full listing of your friend referrals.
This is dependent upon your consumer profile and how it matches our survey research needs at any given time. But on average, you can expect survey requests as often as 1 to 4 times per month--- with 4 being the absolute maximum per month, to ensure that we continue to receive responses of high quality.
Finally, it is important to note that all Hiving panelists must complete 1 out of the 4 surveys per month. A failure to comply with this requirement would result in account termination.
Although responding to more survey invitations will lead to more Hiving points and Cash Rewards, failing to answer all of Hivings survey requests will not result in any consequences. However, all panelists are required to participate in at least 1 survey out of every 4--- and failing to meet this requirement will lead to account termination. Panelists are also permitted to unsubscribe whenever they no longer wish to receive survey invites. Yet, account inactivity due to holidays and time-off do not require unsubscribing from Hiving.
While our survey lengths generally differ, they typically take between 5 and 20 minutes to complete, and the estimated length of each survey is always noted in the survey invitation.
The Hiving points awarded vary by survey length, but you can expect to earn 5 points per minute, Each surveys length is always noted in the survey invitation, and after completing each survey, you can estimate the number of points you will likely be awarded based on your survey time.
In order to be eligible for Hiving points, you must fully complete the survey. Your Hiving points will then be awarded after all the survey responses have been collected from all participating panelists. Hiving points are credited to panelists accounts only after the closing of the entire survey project, which can take up to one month, depending on how long and involved the surveys are.
Firstly, please ensure that you have fully completed all themed questionnaires in our registration form (profile, health, travel, beauty etc.), as panelists with more completed profile questionnaires take precedence in our survey enrollments. Additionally, it is important to note that the surveys you receive are influenced by the information you provide us during registration.
Yet, if you have fully filled out our membership form but are still not receiving our survey invitation emails, be sure to double-check that we are on your safe-sender list and that our survey invitations have not been directed to your spam folder (particularly users with Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, NTL, and other similar email service providers). Addressing this will ensure that our future survey invitation emails are sent directly to your inbox.
If this problem still persists, please contact the Hiving Support Team.
It is important to note that not all internet service providers allow users to open links within an email. If this case applies to you, we suggest that you copy and paste the link in a new window (be careful to copy the entire link, given that the link itself can be several lines long).
If this problem remains unsolved, you can reach our support team here (please include the problematic link in your email request) and we will work on fixing the problem as quickly as possible.
If any technical difficulties occur during the survey, simply click on the Contact Us link at the bottom of the survey invitation. In this email, please explain the details of your problem while also including the relevant link in your email request, and we will work on fixing the problem as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, we are only able to send the link to each survey once.
You can be removed from a survey for 2 reasons:
Before starting a Hiving survey, you will be required to complete some pre-selection questions for screening purposes; ensuring that you meet the consumer profile criteria that our clients request. Consequently, you may be removed from a survey if your consumer profile does match the survey demographic requested by a client.
Typical survey criteria that shape the consumer profiles/demographics requested by our clients include age, gender and professional background, which is why we send out survey requests to a subset of our panelists that meet these client specifications. Yet, because we are not always aware of all survey requirements--- such as consumption trends (like brand popularity)--- panelists can sometimes be removed from our surveys, which can understandably be frustrating (but its at least better than having to fill out an entire survey about products that you dont care about).
